Rule in 60 secondsThe one pattern to memorise.
- Kural 1: Şu an olan iş: be + fiil-ing (I am working).
- Kural 2: Sinyal kelimeler: now, right now, at the moment, Listen!, Look!
- Kural 3: Geniş zaman (alışkanlık) ile karıştırma: every day → simple, now → continuous.
- Kural 4: be fiilini atma:

- Not 1: Stative verbs (A1): know, like, love, hate, want, need, have got.
- Not 2: Bunlarla present simple kullan:
I like it.(değil: I am liking it).

- be'yi atma: sadece -ing yetmez — ✗ I working now. → ✓ I am working now; ✗ They playing outside. → ✓ They are playing outside — -ing tek başına cümle kurmaz, yardımcı fiil şart.
- Simple ile karıştırma: now varken -s takısı olmaz — ✗ She works now. → ✓ She is working now — İpucu: cümlede now / Look! / Listen! varsa continuous; every day / always varsa simple: She works every day.
- Stative fiillerde -ing yok (A1 seviyesinde): know, like, want, need — ✗ I am knowing the answer. → ✓ I know the answer; ✗ She is liking pizza. → ✓ She likes pizza — Duygu, düşünce, sahiplik bildiren fiiller genelde simple kalır.
